Answer a couple of quick questions and we’ll point you in the right direction, no technician required to get started.

Is your AC cooling or heating at all right now?

Is it dripping water anywhere it shouldn't?

Is it blowing any air at all, even if it's not cool or warm?

Is the thermostat screen turned on?

Set the thermostat to Fan-ON. Does air start blowing?

Check for a flow switch near the air handler (a small safety float switch). Is there water sitting in it?

Is the outside condenser unit turned on and making any noise?

Is the outside unit's fan turning on?

Does the outside unit blow air that feels hotter than the outside air, upward from the top?

Is the air filter dirty?

Check under the air handler or behind the filter. Any visible ice?

Is your AC unit frozen? Take out the filter and look under the air handler or behind the filter for ice.

Put your thermostat on Fan-AUTO and Cool-OFF. After 10 minutes, is the air handler making a bubbling or cascade noise?

Find the breaker for your condenser unit (the outside unit) in the breaker panel and switch it off. Then schedule a visit so a technician can take a look.
